Professional Cold-Weather Protection for Diesel Fuel
Diesel Gel Defense is a commercial-grade, polymer-based anti-gel treatment formulated to help diesel fuel continue flowing in cold weather. Rather than relying primarily on solvents or fuel dilution, it uses advanced polymer technology to modify how naturally occurring paraffin wax behaves as diesel fuel cools.
As temperatures drop, wax crystals begin forming in diesel fuel. Left untreated, these crystals can grow, clump together, and restrict fuel flow through filters, eventually causing fuel starvation and engine shutdown.
Diesel Gel Defense helps prevent these problems by controlling wax crystal formation before they become large enough to restrict fuel flow.
Advanced Polymer Technology
Diesel Gel Defense combines multiple cold-flow technologies that work together to improve low-temperature operability, including:
- Wax crystal modifiers that alter the size and shape of forming wax crystals
- Wax dispersant technology that helps keep wax crystals evenly distributed throughout the fuel
- Wax anti-settling technology that helps reduce wax accumulation in critical areas of the fuel system
Working together, these technologies help keep wax crystals smaller, more uniformly dispersed, and less likely to combine into masses that plug fuel filters.
Improved Cold-Weather Operability
By controlling wax crystal formation, Diesel Gel Defense helps fuel continue flowing through filters and fuel lines at lower temperatures, reducing the likelihood of cold-weather fuel-related shutdowns.
When used at the recommended treat rate, Diesel Gel Defense can help lower the Cold Filter Plugging Point (CFPP) of diesel fuel by approximately 15–20°F, depending on the base fuel and operating conditions.
In many applications, it can also help reduce the need for kerosene blending while maintaining reliable winter fuel performance.
Designed for Regular Winter Use
Diesel Gel Defense is suitable for use in all diesel-powered pickups, commercial trucks, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, generators, buses, and other diesel engines operating in cold-weather conditions.
For best results, treat fuel before temperatures fall below the fuel's cloud point or before wax crystals begin to form.
