Break Down Sludge. Improve Biocide Performance. Restore Cleaner Fuel Systems.

Bell Tank Treatment SDF (Sludge Dispersant Formula) is a professional-grade treatment designed specifically for stored fuel tanks experiencing sludge accumulation, microbial contamination, and fuel quality deterioration. It penetrates stubborn sludge and microbial biofilms, making tanks easier to clean while helping fuel biocides reach and eliminate hidden microbial colonies.

Ideal for diesel, biodiesel, and other stored fuel systems, SDF is commonly used by fuel service companies, generator maintenance providers, fleet operators, municipalities, hospitals, and industrial facilities seeking to restore fuel system cleanliness and improve long-term fuel reliability.

Breaks Down Tank Sludge

Over time, fuel storage tanks accumulate sludge from fuel degradation, oxidation, and contamination. This sludge can restrict fuel flow, foul filters, increase maintenance costs, and complicate tank cleaning.

Bell Tank Treatment SDF penetrates and disperses accumulated sludge into smaller suspended particles that can be removed through normal system operation, filtration, or scheduled tank cleaning. By softening stubborn deposits, SDF helps reduce cleaning time and makes maintenance more efficient.

Disrupts Microbial Biofilms

Microbial contamination creates sticky biofilms that adhere to tank walls and internal components. These protective layers shield bacteria and fungi from fuel biocide treatment, allowing contamination to persist even after treatment.

Bell Tank Treatment SDF helps break apart these biofilms, exposing hidden microbial colonies so fuel biocides can contact and eliminate them more effectively. Used together, a sludge dispersant and a fuel biocide provide a more complete approach to restoring contaminated fuel systems.

Works Best as Part of a Complete Treatment Program

Bell Tank Treatment SDF is designed to complement—not replace—a fuel biocide. While SDF disperses sludge and breaks apart microbial biofilms, a biocide is still needed to kill the bacteria and fungi responsible for microbial contamination.

For systems with active microbial growth, Bell Performance recommends using SDF alongside Bellicide™ or ClearKill®. Breaking down the protective biofilm first allows the biocide to reach more microorganisms, improving treatment effectiveness and helping reduce the likelihood of recurring contamination.

Helps Protect Tank Surfaces

As sludge and biofilms accumulate, they contribute to corrosion and ongoing contamination inside storage tanks.

Bell Tank Treatment SDF leaves a protective film on fuel-contacting surfaces that helps reduce corrosion while making it more difficult for sludge and microbial biofilms to reattach over time.

Supports Long-Term Fuel Quality

Regular use helps maintain cleaner storage tanks, improve fuel stability, support more uniform biodiesel blends, and reduce maintenance associated with long-term fuel storage.
