ATP-By-Filtration is the most advanced microbial testing method in the marketplace, using the measurement of ATP (the energy transport molecule present in all living cells, including microbes) - to give the most accurate and sensitive indication of the level of microbial contamination in fuel and water samples.
The principle is simple but the technology is advanced. Fuel or water samples are prepared using specialized ATP-By-Filtration reagents, which extracts the ATP from any microbes contained therein. The prepared sample is then combined with a test enzyme and inserted into the FP Luminometer. A chemical reaction initiated when ATP comes in contact with the enzyme produces bioluminescent light, which is then measured by the FP Luminometer. The amount of light produced directly indicates the amount of microbial ATP in the sample, which directly correlates with the amount of microbial content present in the sample.
The easiest and most convenient way to do ATP-By-Filtration testing is to take advantage of Fuel Pulse’s pre-packaged 5- and 10-pack testing kits. These were created to contain all of the reagents and consumables needed to do ATP-By-Filtration testing. Each kit contains enough reagents and supplies to do 5 or 10 microbial tests (along with one calibration). The kits are also designed as self-contained testing spaces for maximum convenience when working in tight work areas.
These 5-pack and 10-pack kits make it as easy as possible to do best practice ATP-By-Filtration microbial testing for aviation fuel.
The ATP-By-Filtration test method delivers at least three huge advantages over other kinds of in-field microbial testing:
Get started with ATP-By-Filtration by ordering an FP Luminometer Equipment Set. Or, if you already have a Luminometer set, order your 5- or 10-pack testing kit.
